JAZZ
Our Program
Our jazz band is the next step for students wanting to take their music education in a more contemporary direction. With variable parts and more individual responsibility, our jazz program helps students gain confidence on their instrument and deepen their understanding of music.
Our jazz program is often one of the most visible programs in the IM department. We are proud to play for schoolwide events during the year and support our peers in other departments around the school, further expanding our students performance skills.

Mile High Jazz Festival
A showcase of bands from all over the front range, MHJF is a fantastic event for our jazz bands to be put on show for the community.

Swing Dance
Join us in second semester for our annual Spring Swing Dance! An evening of dancing, games, food, and a silent auction, all with live music performed by the AWest Jazz Program.

West Valley Area Festival
Come see all the jazz bands from the West Valley area— join AWest, Ralston Valley, Drake MS, Oberon MS, and Threek Creeks for an evening of jazz, showcasing grades 6-12!
