Before joining the team at Arvada West, Mr. Vanlandingham taught choir and orchestra at Oberon Middle School. As a singer and violinist, Jesse regularly performs with community and professional ensembles in the Denver area, including Elus Vocal Ensemble and the Colorado Symphony Chorus. Jesse's greatest passion outside of music is the Spanish language, which has driven him to travel and study in Guatemala, Ecuador and Mexico. Spring 2026 Season The Arvada West Wildcat Pep Band performs at our boys and girls varsity basketball games during the months of December-February. Pep band is a high-energy, low pressure performance environment, open to all music students. The purpose of pep band is to provide support to our excellent varsity basketball teams, as well as give our music students a chance to try out new instruments and styles of music in a fun and supportive environment. Many students who join pep band in the spring end up becoming core members of the Wildcat Marching Band in the fall. ALL Symphonic Band, Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble members are required to attend a at least three of these events.
